Artificial intelligence has advanced so quickly that even one of its longtime champions is warning that governments may be dangerously unprepared. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates recently compared AI to “alien intelligence” arriving on Earth—and urged nations to cooperate before the technology transforms society faster than institutions can respond.

Speaking at the Telluride Film Festival, Gates used a science-fiction scenario to describe the challenge facing humanity.
His point was not that AI comes from another planet. Rather, he was emphasizing how unfamiliar increasingly capable artificial intelligence can be compared with ordinary human intelligence—and how quickly its capabilities are developing.
Gates has argued that governments are behind the curve when it comes to preparing for AI’s consequences.

Gates Warns Of Jobs, Cyberattacks And Biological Risks
In a major essay published in August, Gates warned that AI could cause enormous disruption to employment while also empowering criminals and other bad actors.
He specifically discussed cyberattacks, biological threats, autonomous weapons, misinformation and the possibility that increasingly capable systems could eventually become difficult to control.
Gates has also proposed taxing AI tokens and robots, arguing that current tax structures can encourage businesses to replace human labor with machines. He has suggested using some of that revenue for retraining and social safety-net programs.

The Prophetic Perspective
The Bible does not specifically predict artificial intelligence.
But Daniel 12:4 speaks of a time when “knowledge will increase.” Modern technology has produced an unprecedented explosion of accessible information, computational power and global communication.
That does not prove AI fulfills biblical prophecy.
But it should remind Christians that technological power without wisdom can become dangerous. Scripture repeatedly calls believers to discernment, truth and vigilance.
