A controversial search for Noah’s Ark in eastern Turkey has taken a disturbing turn after Noah’s Ark Scans reported that founder Andrew Jones’ apartment was burglarized while he was staying elsewhere following alleged threats against him.
Research Underway In Turkey
The Durupınar formation near Mount Ararat has been debated for decades. In 2026, the project received official Turkish authorization for geological and archaeological investigation, including geophysical surveys and core drilling.
Noah’s Ark Scans says researchers are examining the formation using GPR, ERT, LiDAR and drilling technology. The team says recent testing has produced unusual subsurface findings, but those findings have not established that the formation is Noah’s Ark.
Apartment Burglary
According to Lauren Witzke, Jones’ apartment was ransacked while he was away. She said computers, laptops and memory cards were taken while other equipment was left behind. The team believes the burglary specifically targeted research data. That characterization remains an allegation; publicly available reporting does not establish who committed the burglary or the motive.
The team says Jones had already made backup copies and that the research data was not lost.
The Prophetic Perspective
The Bible specifically references “the days of Noah” when describing conditions preceding Christ’s return. Whether Durupınar ultimately proves connected to Noah’s Ark remains a scientific question, but the renewed investigation has naturally drawn attention from Bible prophecy watchers.
