America Faces A Massive Flood Threat: A sprawling weather pattern is unleashing extraordinary rainfall across the Southwest and central United States as tropical moisture from Pacific storms combines with another system moving inland. AccuWeather reports that some areas could receive several inches of additional rain, with locally higher totals possible.

69 Trillion Gallons: Meteorologist Ryan Hall has estimated that approximately 69 trillion gallons of rain could fall across the United States during the multiday event. That number is an estimate, not an official government rainfall total, but the flooding threat is already very real.

New Mexico Flooding: Southern New Mexico has suffered some of the most serious impacts. Officials issued a flash-flood emergency after McLeod Dam faced failure concerns, prompting evacuations around Garfield, Salem, Hatch and Rincon.

The Flood Threat Expands: Flooding has spread into parts of Texas and the Great Plains. AP reports that Nebraska experienced extraordinary rainfall, including a record 6.1 inches in Lincoln, while Omaha saw numerous water rescues.

The Pacific Is Heating Up: Hurricane Rachel has strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane with winds near 105 mph. The National Hurricane Center says Rachel is moving west-northwest and is expected to strengthen further.

Prophecy Watch: Luke 21:25 speaks of “distress of nations” and the sea and waves roaring. Extraordinary weather should remind Christians to remain watchful, prayerful and prepared without declaring that a specific storm fulfills biblical prophecy.
