Artificial intelligence just crossed another remarkable line. Tavus has unveiled Griffin, a real-time video AI that the company says became the first model to pass its live video Turing test.
48% Couldn’t Tell: In Tavus’ one-minute study, 26 of 54 participants believed they had been speaking with a real person. Tavus says its previous system produced a comparable result of just 2.4%. Griffin can watch, listen, speak, gesture, react to interruptions and respond to what is happening during the conversation.
This Is Not A Recorded Avatar: Griffin is designed as a full-duplex video-to-video system, meaning it can process visual and audio information while simultaneously responding. Tavus describes it as a new category called a Human Interaction Model.

The Revelation 13 Question: This is where the technology becomes especially fascinating for students of Bible prophecy. Revelation 13:14–15 describes an “image of the beast” that is given the ability to speak and is associated with the appearance of life.
To be clear: Griffin is not the image of the beast, and there is no evidence establishing that connection.
But the technological development raises an intriguing question: What happens when an artificial image can see, speak, react, express emotion and convincingly imitate a living person?
Two thousand years ago, John could describe what he saw prophetically without having modern technological vocabulary.
Today, technologies capable of producing increasingly convincing interactive human images are becoming reality.
Prophecy Watch: Revelation 13 should be interpreted carefully rather than forcing every new technology into prophecy. Yet developments like Griffin demonstrate that capabilities once confined to science fiction are moving rapidly into the real world.
